First cycle of chemotherapy

Maeve is going for her first full dose of chemotherapy on Monday (26/07). It will be a 5 days therapy with a 1 day of hydration. Hydration has the purpose of flushing out the toxin and dead cancer cells through urination. During the chemotherapy, different people will have different side effects. Some of them are mood change, constipation, vomit and hair loss. Please pray that Maeve will have minimal side effects during this cycle of chemotherapy.

Although the lymphoma is currently isolated, it has the chance of spreading to other parts of Maeve's body. Hence, she is given injection periodically to protect the cancer from spreading to her brain. As this injection is a painful process, Maeve has to be sedated every time she has the injection.

Maeve did a "baby dose" of chemotherapy while she was in the hospital. It was to test whether the therapy is effective. When it was tested the last time, it showed very positive and encouraging result. So please pray that this full dose of chemotherapy will be as effective.

Someone said doing the chemotherapy is like running a marathon. It is a long process that needs a lot of stamina and determination. The Low family is going for their first lap of marathon. They need our prayers, support and encouragement.

So remember them while you start your day this week.
