Whilst out for a stroll one day, I turned the wrong way and ended up backtracking quite a bit with Maeve. She wasn't very impressed.
"Mummy, I've got lots of mean things to say in my mouth that want to come out"
"Such as?"
Deliberate pause.
" I can't tell you because it will break your heart. And I don't want to do that."
Then my little girl takes my hand and bends to pluck a grass flower for me.
It is these moments that make motherhood really worth it!

dear joanne, frances here (RCC david tan's wife).the last time we chatted were at simon cheo's wedding & you were pregnant with paige then :) we got to know about maeve through kev & edna a couple of months back. we're remembering your family in our prayers.
as a mum, you've definitely impacted & inspired me with your strength & honesty. strength that comes from within & from the lord supernaturally, honesty to battle with the lord & to confront him with the intense pain & anger.
maeve's courage puts us to shame. through it all, i believe god has beautiful plans in store for maeve, for paige, for you & for bernard. we're very proud of the family!
