Maeve is getting weak
"Maeve is starting to feel weak and she does not want to walk at all. Pray that she regains some strength in her legs and that the leg cramps will go away. She is also starting to ask why the other kids here have no hair. Do not know how to tell her. Pray for wisdom and that she will not lose her self esteem when it happens."

A mother's heartache
"Yesterday was very stressful involving lots of needles and pain. It was very hard watching her go through it all and not understand why I let them hurt her. Pray that today will be event free and we get to just rest. Thank God the side effects have been minimal so far. Except for the mood swings. I know this is because a whole army is praying for Maeve."
Yes, indeed a whole army is praying for Maeve and the Low family. Let's continue to intercede for them!

The Low family is sick!
"Please pray for my family. Mum and dad are sick. Bernard and Paige are sick. I am the only one left standing. Pray all will recover before we go back this weekend. Maeve cannot afford to catch it with her very low immune system."

First cycle of chemotherapy
Maeve is going for her first full dose of chemotherapy on Monday (26/07). It will be a 5 days therapy with a 1 day of hydration. Hydration has the purpose of flushing out the toxin and dead cancer cells through urination. During the chemotherapy, different people will have different side effects. Some of them are mood change, constipation, vomit and hair loss. Please pray that Maeve will have minimal side effects during this cycle of chemotherapy.
Although the lymphoma is currently isolated, it has the chance of spreading to other parts of Maeve's body. Hence, she is given injection periodically to protect the cancer from spreading to her brain. As this injection is a painful process, Maeve has to be sedated every time she has the injection.
Maeve did a "baby dose" of chemotherapy while she was in the hospital. It was to test whether the therapy is effective. When it was tested the last time, it showed very positive and encouraging result. So please pray that this full dose of chemotherapy will be as effective.
Someone said doing the chemotherapy is like running a marathon. It is a long process that needs a lot of stamina and determination. The Low family is going for their first lap of marathon. They need our prayers, support and encouragement.
So remember them while you start your day this week.

Going Home!!!!!
THE LOW FAMILY IS GOING HOME TODAY!!!!!!
sms from jo goes like this:
" Today test results show Maeve's responding to the chemo. The cancer cells are being killed off! Thank God! We start the full on dose on monday. Will be there for 5 days."
Praise be to God for the chemotherapy which is working within Maeve's body!
Hi everyone, if you're thinking of buying anything for Maeve, apart from toys and books, just be cautioned that food, snacks and drinks have to be in single serves so as to minimise the introduction and presence of bacteria in the food that she ingests! :)
If you're looking at how you can help support the family during this period, activity books etc are welcomed to occupy Maeve's time at home. And of course, if you have a good way with children, you may offer your time to play with Maeve since we all know she is such an active girl and also to free up the parents for a while. :D
Do make sure that you're in the pink of health if you're intending to visit as Maeve's immune system will be very weak due to the chemotherapy. Thank you all!
